2017 U.S. Tax Reform Legislation
The 2017 U.S. tax reform bill signed into law on December 22, 2017 is based on a bill released by the Conference Committee on December 15, 2017.
The Conference Committee included representatives from the Senate and the House, and their bill reflected a compromise between the version of the bill passed by the Senate on December 2 and the version passed by the House on November 16. The Conference Committee’s bill was further modified to remove certain provisions which violated Senate procedural rules, before a final bill was passed by the Senate and the House on December 20 and signed into law on December 22.
